Some of us at the Upstream mid-winter retreat 2008Leeland's song "Opposite Way" talks about how God's will for us is to go in the opposite direction that the world is going. That is what RYM's youth leadership programme is all about, and the reason behind the name "Upstream". We are called to be salt and light to this dying world. To swim upstream of the godless flow and to encourage others to follow.
Every young person has the potential to make history for Jesus, if only they would renspond to God the way Isaiah did... "Here I am send me!"
RYM's leadership team meets weekly for prayer (essence), is encouraged regularly via email, meets monthly for upskilling, participates in occasional outreach events, enjoys a yearly mid-winter retreat and runs an annual youth leadership conference.
